The stylized lion dynamically depicted on this brilliantly colorful kite is a popular theme from mythical legend. It's especially popular in combination with peonies, as shown here, and has traditionally been a frequent decoration of folding screens, wall panels and other interior decor.This kite, available in a choice of 2 sizes, can be flown or decoratively framed to add the perfect accent to any interior. Hand-painted using dyes, this Japanese "Lion" Edo kite will look fabulous flying in the sky or as an interior decoration. HAND MADE IN JAPAN

The veteran kitemaker who crafts this work of art is Tetsuya Kishida.

We are deeply saddened to announce that Tetsuya Kishida passed away on August 20, 2019.

His love and passion for creating and flying the Edo kites were unmeasurable. We were inspired by his artwork and our gratitude for the opportunity to work with him.
